Commit Business Solutions launched a major new version of its flagship
software, Commit 4.0, on March 21, 2007.
Maayan Porat, CEO of Commit, remarked: "We are very excited about the
release of this version. This version is our biggest release ever. It
provides an even better, more intuitive solution for our customers – small
computer repair and computer services companies. This release includes
numerous new features and enhancements that target the needs of our
customers. It is the result of our continuous discussions with our users and
our commitment to provide a complete solution to manage their computer
service business."
Customer feedback has been very positive. "We are hearing 'Thank you' and
'Great Release' a lot!", said Anna Polyak, a senior member of the Commit
support team. "We knew that this release adds substantial improvements for
running a computer services business, but the volume of positive feedback is
beyond our expectations" she added.
Commit helps IT professional to maximize their billable time by enabling
more efficient capturing of billable hours for labor performed. Commit also
makes it easy to track all parts replaced and products sold when handling a
service issue.
With the enhanced Commit-QuickBooks Link, users can now generate QuickBooks®
invoices easily from within Commit at all levels: Customer, Service Contract
or Support Incident. These invoices are based on the labor activity and
parts charges logged into Commit by technicians as part of their service
activity. As a result there is no need to waste time reentering this
information for billing purposes.
The new version of Commit is also fully compatible with Intuit® QuickBooks®
2007 editions.
Two-way synchronization with Microsoft® Outlook®, including support for
Outlook® 2007, is another option introduced in this release. Using
Commit-Outlook Sync, users can enter information into Commit or Outlook and
be assured that the information is synchronized and current in both
programs.
"Computer repair technicians who provide support at customer sites can now
have their schedules with them at all times, whether they use Smart Phones,
Palm® or Windows® Mobile® devices. They can simply sync the data with Commit
via Outlook®, which adds a lot of value for our customers," added Maayan.
The new Asset management module in Commit lets Managed Service Providers and
other IT services businesses to easily track and manage customer' equipment,
PC inventory and software licenses/subscriptions. "This new module is
completely integrated with the entire set of tools we provide to our
customers," added Anna. "Technicians can quickly and efficiently get to the
root of problems with the help of the Asset service history feature."
"From a sales perspective it is now easy to track warranty and subscription
expirations, and offer on-time renewals, which keeps the customer happy
while simultaneously increasing sales," Maayan adds.
Commit Web Interface modules, which enable technicians and customers to
access and manage data in Commit through a standard web browser, have also
been improved: both Mozilla Firefox® and Internet Explorer® browsers are now
fully supported. SSL certificates can now be used to establish secure
connections with the Commit server.
This software release has also been tested on Windows® Vista® and includes
many other new features and improvements, which are detailed on Commit's
website.
