KnowGate is a private company founded at the beginning of year 2000 in
Spain as a local services provider.
From the beginning the company focused on building web based software for
contents management and e-business.
By that time, at the peak of the Internet bubble there where not very much
interest in open source so the company focused on providing professional
services to the upsizing market of portals.
Although the company has never had a significant share in the consultancy
market it raised enough funds from customers for financing the development
of hipergate.
The company began with 4 employees and is now (March 2004) in 20. Turnover
for year 2004 was $1.7MM.

hipergate is an open source web based application suite.
It's mission is to cover a full range of technical requirements in any
organization. All applications are addresses from Internet Explorer, without
needing any other additional software in the client computer.
This suite is multi-company capable, and can be used in a single company, a
corporate group or working as an ASP solution capable of serving an
unlimited quantity of single customers.
